AFRICK/MONIZCaring for Your Silver

Silver is meant to be used. The more frequently it is used, the easier the care. Washing in warm soapy water and drying immediately should allow the silver to retain its polish. Silver should not be put in the dishwasher.

If your silver has tarnished, use only a small amount of polish, and while holding the piece, apply polish in small circles using a clean cotton cloth. When the polish is dry, then wipe the polish off. Be sure to hold your silver during the polishing process. If it is placed on a solid surface, the stress put on the piece could cause it to split.

And one final word, never tie your silver together with rubber bands -- the sulfur in rubber bands could cause serious tarnishing.
